Comparison

SkySign vs DocuSign: signatures or acknowledgements?

DocuSign is the established choice for signing agreements, and its Bulk Send feature can send one policy to many people. SkySign is built for a different job: issuing operational documents to station and department groups, again and again, and seeing who has acknowledged each one.

SkySign compared with DocuSign
CapabilitySkySignDocuSign
One document to many peopleYes
Issue once to station and department groups; everyone in them receives it.
Yes
Bulk Send creates a separate envelope for each recipient on a list, and DocuSign suggests it for acknowledging new policies.
Recipients next timeYes
Groups live in SkySign, so the next bulletin goes to the same groups with no list to upload.
Partly
Each bulk send takes a recipient list you upload or type in, of up to 999 people.
Record for each personYes
Statement accepted, typed name, server time, IP address, browser and document fingerprint.
Yes
A Certificate of Completion for each envelope, with signer events, IP addresses and timestamps.
Completion across a workforceYes
Completion by document, group and person in one place, with an unsigned list.

Each recipient is a separate envelope with its own status; comparing stations means your own reporting.
RemindersPartly
One-click nudges, plus one scheduled reminder per document.
Yes
Reminders at an interval you choose, and an expiry date for each envelope.
Identity checksPartly
Each person signs in to their own account with a password or Google. There are no extra identity checks.

Signatures designed for agreements and contracts, including with people outside your organisation.
Staff view of their documentsYes
One list of everything pending and acknowledged, with history and certificates.
Partly
Each document arrives as its own envelope to complete from an email.

Which should you use?

When DocuSign is the better choice

  • Contracts and agreements that need a signature, especially with people outside your organisation.
  • Signers who must prove who they are with an ID document or a code sent to their phone.
  • Documents with a signing order, several parties or fields to fill in.
  • Occasional policy sign-off at low volume, where you already use DocuSign.

When SkySign is the better choice

  • A steady flow of bulletins, SOP changes and policies to the same station and department groups.
  • Seeing completion by group and chasing who is behind, without building reports.
  • Staff who need one place to find everything they have been asked to read.
  • Checking understanding with a short knowledge check before staff acknowledge.

Use both: agreements in DocuSign, operations in SkySign.

The two can sit side by side: employment contracts and supplier agreements in DocuSign, operational documents in SkySign. The jobs need different records — a completed agreement on one side, a running acknowledgement history for every person on the other.

Where SkySign falls short today

  • No identity verification beyond each person’s own sign-in.
  • No signing order, form fields or agreements between several parties.
  • One scheduled reminder per document, not a repeating schedule.
  • No API for connecting other systems yet.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a SkySign acknowledgement a signature?

SkySign records an acknowledgement: the typed name, the statement accepted, the account, a server timestamp and the document’s fingerprint. It isn’t designed for signing contracts. Whether it meets a particular legal requirement is for your organisation and its advisers.

Can DocuSign send a policy to all our staff?

Yes. Bulk Send sends a separate envelope to each person on a list, and DocuSign suggests it for acknowledging new policies. Each recipient is one envelope, so check how your plan counts them.

Does SkySign connect to DocuSign?

No. The two run separately.
