Choose an acknowledgement statement

Every document asks staff to accept one statement. Pick the one that matches what you need them to confirm — the exact wording is stored with each acknowledgement.

The four types

Acknowledgement types and their statements
TypeStatement staff acceptButton they press
Read & understood“I confirm that I have read and understood this document.”Acknowledge
Read & comply“I confirm that I have read and understood this procedure and agree to comply with its requirements.”Acknowledge and agree to comply
Briefing acknowledgement“I confirm that I have received and understood this briefing.”Acknowledge briefing
Training acknowledgement“I confirm that I have completed the required training material.”Confirm completion

Which one to use

  • Read & understood — policies and information documents, where you need confirmation they were read.
  • Read & comply — procedures and SOPs that staff must follow, such as a revised turnaround or fuelling procedure.
  • Briefing acknowledgement — operational briefings, safety bulletins and station notices.
  • Training acknowledgement — training and refresher material staff are expected to complete.

What is recorded

When someone acknowledges, the exact statement they accepted is copied onto their acknowledgement record. If the wording of a type changes in future, records already made keep the wording that was shown at the time. The statement also appears on the acknowledgement certificate.

Note
You choose the type when you issue a document. If you change it afterwards, people who acknowledge from then on accept the new statement; records already made keep the statement they accepted.

What this doesn’t do

  • Statements are the four standard wordings above. You cannot yet write a custom statement for a document.
